Note reading, rhythm, sight reading, and music theory help students become more independent. The goal is not simply to imitate a piece, but to understand and perform it with confidence.
Personal progress
Instruction shaped around the student.
Lessons reflect each student’s age, experience, goals, and pace of learning. Gerri supports students who want to play for personal enjoyment as well as those who may wish to pursue music more seriously.
Suzuki and traditional methods
More than one path to learning.
Suzuki materials and traditional instruction can be used individually or together. Gerri helps families understand which approach best supports the student’s current needs.
Practice and consistency
Progress continues between lessons.
Students are encouraged to practice approximately 30 minutes each day. Consistent practice reinforces technique, reading, repertoire, and confidence.

Students can work toward polished performance, stronger musical expression, and a varied repertoire while continuing to improve their overall proficiency.
